Research group of Safe Beijing Construction Assessment and Evaluation System Evaluation Project Went to Beijing Municipal Commission of Poli

The construction ofSafe Beijing is an important content to maintain the political security and stability of the capital and to innovate the social governance system. Since it was formally proposed at the end of 2008, the construction work of Safe Beijing has gone through ten years. At the same time, the arrival of a new era also puts forward new requirements for the construction of Safe Beijing. In order to further implement the requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Municipal Committee on the safe Beijing construction work in the new historical stage and better play the guiding role of assessment, Beijing Municipal Commission of Political Science and Law commissioned the School of Public Administration and Policy of Renmin University of China to carry out the assessment of the existing indicator system.

On July 11, 2019, in order to know the present status of the Safe Beijing construction system, team leader Prof. Yang Kaifeng, Associate Prof. Zhang Zhang, Hu Wei and two doctoral studentshad an in-depth discussion with the municipal departments and the political and legal commissions of all districts participating in the assessment of Safe Beijing Construction, and listened to the evaluation and suggestions on the assessment index system, specific indicators and implementation rules from the relevant departments as the assessment and evaluation parties.

Through the one-day discussion and investigation, the research group preliminarily concluded that the assessment of the construction of Safe Beijing is of great significance for the continuous and efficient promotion of the political and social stability work in the capital. Over the years, Beijing Municipal Commission of Political and Legal Affairs has carried out a lot of work and accumulated rich experience in perfecting the assessment system and improving the effectiveness of the assessment work of Safe Beijing. However, facing the new historical stage, there is still some space worth adjusting and optimizing. Specifically, the research group plans to comprehensively review the assessment work of Safe Beijing from the three aspects of index system design, index setting and assessment management, and put forward reasonable suggestions in order to further play the guiding role of assessment.
