During28th October to 1stNovember 2019, "Beijing municipal government performance management Measures" preliminary research group members, including associate professor Hu Wei at theSchool of Public Administrationand Policy and the PhD student ChuMengran, participated in the investigation group composed of Performance Management Office of Beijing Municipal Government and officials in charge of some district-level performance management work, conducted field study research inFujian and Zhejiang province. The research team focused on the performance construction and performance management practice characteristics and system construction of Zhejiang and Fujian provincial governments, as well as Hangzhou, Zhoushan, Fuzhou and Xiamen governments, and had in-depth discussions and exchanges with corresponding performance management departments.

Through this investigation, the research group now has a more comprehensive understanding of the historical evolution and the latest practice progress of efficiency construction and performance management in Zhejiang and Fujian. At the same time, through the summary of the contents and main characteristic of this researchperformance management inZhejiang, Fujian and Beijing,the field study will beconducive to the further development of the preliminary study on the compilation of Beijing Government Performance Management Measures. On the basis of absorbing and drawing on reasonable experience, the government performance management measures with characteristics of the new era and Beijing would be formulated.
